Family of Bigfoots Stalking Buffalo In Yellowstone National Park?

Here's a really interesting video ThinkerThunker discovered while browsing YouTube. Could this be the first footage of a family of Bigfoots hunting game? According to the story, a person was on the National Parks Service webcam of Old Faithful in Yellowstone Park and happened to record four strange figures walking toward some animals. What's amazing is that the sizes of the figures compared to the buffalo are roughly 7 to 9 feet tall! Check out the breakdown below:

If they take on buffalo they surely are the top predator.

The male taking up the rear might be a 9 to 10 footer. Thinker Thunker should have put that one next the buffalo.

    1. Fail? Come on Joe. Look at the still of the "bigfoot" underneath the article title. Why are this "bigfoot's" arms a noticeably lighter color beginning about a third of the way down the arm?

I've seen people wear a long underwear shirt underneath a short sleeve shirt. Something like this is probably what's happening here.

      Delete
    2. I see nothing of the sort, you are quite simply seeing things that aren't there. The arms appear lighter because they are of thinner mass than the subjects body, and light contrast from the snow behind its silhouette is making it appear lighter.

The sheer size of the subjects is self evident.

      Epic fail.

      Delete
    3. Joe, you really see nothing of the sort? Have you been to an optometrist recently? If not, you should.

      Agreed whole heartedly.

      Delete
    7. Too large? LOL. That one standing between the bison is the height of a human. And there's nothing in the build that couldn't be a human.

      Delete
    8. It's also been brought forward about 75 yards (estimate) which would account for a decrease in height over that distance... Then you have the fact that one of his mates his clearly taller than that by a couple of feet.

      Wake up.

      Delete
    9. They're all the same height. Their heads are obscured by the steam as they're walking across the clearing between the tree and TT draws the line across the 'shorter' guy's shoulders. If you watch the video carefully you can just make out his head above the yellow line.

      Delete
    10. Also many of the bison at Yellowstone are much less than 6.5 feet tall. Here's a photo of a whole bunch of bison at Yellowstone and a lot of them are under 6 feet.
Assuming that the bison in the video are the maximum height and calculating the height of the figures in the background based on that is faulty logic.

    11. I think you're right about he steam and the height of the subjects, the bison height is pure assumption.

      I'm almost convinced though.

      Delete
    12. I'm not assuming that the bison are super short - I'm not making any assumption about their height at all. I'm just saying that TT's assumption that they're 6.5 feet tall might possible be totally wrong and his calculation on the height of the background figures would similarly be completely wrong. There's no way of verifying the height of anything in the video.

      Delete
    13. Unless we draw from averages which is about as logical as anyone can be.

I think it's safe to say that these are not Sasquatch anyway.

      Delete
    14. There's no indication that the bison in the video are average height, drawing on that figure is just another assumption.

But yeah, I agree with you that the figures are probably skiers.

      Delete
    15. No... There are no indicators that those buffalo are adolescent. You can look at this for yourself on Google images. One need not merely draw from the average height of the human, but considering that they do indeed appear to be fully grown buffalo, it is natural to compare both subjects for scale.

Skiers indeed. Good job Merchant... I've always liked him but his recent breakdowns have been first rate.

  4. What I see is an amazing size and body ratio of several buffalo when they are blown up also.. In the first 30 seconds you can see the walkers are human. Arms are at or just below the hips and front legs lock at the knee ( bigfoot do not ). Legs also do not come up to 73 degree or better as opposed to these at 52 degree or less, TT first rule he breaks here. He zooms in on them and brings this picture next to the buffalo, thus a highly overpixelated screen shot showing that is worthless for any comparison.
I am beginning to think TT can find a bigfoot in any film, remember his fiasco recently with the turkey hunters. He was called on this by folks that has almost worshipped him to that point and called them idiots and morons.

This was put to rest a couple months ago by people far more skilled than me, but it was obvious they were not bigfoots from the beginning.

    3. Actually; I've just watched Merchants breakdown, and I'm leaning towards it being skiers now... Not totally convinced, but in leaning towards it.

Still not convinced by the size ratios.

    4. Look at the bison in the thumbnail for TT's video, it's either a bison/dachsund cross with incredibly short legs or it's standing in deep snow.

      Delete
    5. Joe & Chuck. As I look at this, the motion of the legs looks like cross country skiers. What Thinker Thunker notes is one having an injured leg is a motion he is making on skis.

Here is a link to a video that does a better break down. The camera is a quarter mile away, and the regular shot, before Thinker Thunker zooms in, is already greatly magnified. On the following video they explain at extreme magnification the ratios of height change and objects in the background can appear as tall as those in the foreground.

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CL8rnyJFVJg

Chuck, thanks for getting me to take a second look. At first I thought these must be bigfoots due to the comparative sizes, which the magnification is misleading.

Other things of note besides the legs not moving like a sasquatches are how erect the men walk. Sasquatches have a slight forward lean when walking, and much more when running. These guys are are like boards.

So, I was convinced at first that this looked really good. But not any longer.

I was not fooled from the beginning ( because their movement was human and limb ratios also until TT inserted them next to the bison and things got whacked out of place) but I have been fooled before and I suspect most knowers and believers have also. I also learned that the dangers of zooming, at least far distances, this was almost 600 yards thanks to Phil and Michael Merchant. It is a good day when one can learn something new. My fear is that TT will not learn from this and will go into obscurity like FB/FB as he has done some really good work in the past. However this is two in a row that can easily be shown not to be bigfoots. He held firm with the turkey hunters fiasco and I suspect he will do so here. Sometimes stating you were flat out wrong is a hard thing to do. If he does not maybe he should go into politics.

      Delete
    6. Making any assumption about the size of the bison in the video is faulty logic so there's no way of determining the size of the background figures with any degree of accuracy based on this video alone. If someone tracks down a video of hikers at the same spot taken by the same remote security camera then we'll be able to make some accurate assessments.

      Delete
    7. Not when you have average size of adult bison to draw from, and not when you have a decrease in distance over an estimated space of 75 yards, that accounts for a human seemingly way taller than the average bison.

The thing that is convincing me however is that the taller subject at the back of the group is explainable by be steam obscuring it's apparent size.

      Delete
    8. Merchant addressed the size in his video. When cameras have this much magnification, it screws up the focal lengths. In fact he totally OBLITERATED Not Thinking Thunker.

Plus if you watch the video they walk across an opening in the trees but somehow make it back to the right side of the screen without crossing back over that opening, and there's no other cover that could have hidden their movement. I guess they teleported over there??

  12. Another good observation 6 39. After two minutes I did not go any further it was just that obvious already for me. These WERE NOT Big guys! They were small Bison. Plus the 8 foot one, was standing on a hill!
Also look at their legs when they walk. It seems to me, they have skinny legs, and are un-sure as they walk. Plenty of red flags on this one!

That someone should think that for ten thousand years, multiple cultures seperated by geographical divide, cultures who have not found eachothers customs desirable, are all in fact a part of the same secret society of gorilla suit wearing tricksters who jump out and say "boo" to people where there are more hunters on the planet, spanning from a time when natives didn't know what an ape looked like.

    4. Could this be an appeal to antiquity fallacy or appeal to popularity fallacy? Or a combo?

While one can certainly consider cultural traditions, we need to be very careful in it's use as evidence.

      Delete
    5. Bollocks.

If you actually pick up a book on Native legends or oral tradition, you'll know that culture and history have always been past down the generations from father to son to maintain identity and bonds, because written texts can always be manipulated. We have thousands of years of Native American culture (the natives say 50, Turtle Island is a term used by several Northeastern Woodland indigenous tribes, especially the Haudenosaunee or Iroquois Confederacy, for the continent of North America), yes, thousands... wall paintings some 8 feet tall true to size and if you know anything about indigenous culture, you would know that ceremonies, dances, utensil designs like baskets, all these things indigenous people do to pass down historical events, identity and culture. There is an easily attainable timeline of Native American culture by the determining the age of settlement sites. Burnt wood and other means have in fact been used to carbon date areas where indigenous peoples who maintain the Bigfoot culture have resided.

When cultural traditions manifest into modern day mediums to the extent of multiple databases of reports, that has physical and even biological sources of evidence to support, then the only huckster is he who tries passing it off as an appeal to antiquity... Nobody sees the Minotaur, Einstein, and though this topic is a part of popular culture it is in fact still too fringe and too ridiculed by egocentric naive-heads to be deemed a product of popularity.

    7. Joe, no need to be rude. :-) My 1033 comment was not.

The challenge is to use historic culture as direct evidence of bigfoot. We simply can't make that direct connection. There are other plausible explanations. We can add it to the body of indirect evidence (ie eyewitness reports). For some, that body of evidence is of sufficient quantity/quality for them to conclude bigfoot exists. For me, it is not. It also doesn't for mainstream science at this point. As always, new high-quality evidence can change that.

      Delete
    8. Ok... I apologise for being so defensive. I get like that sometimes, try not to sound so cynical though, it brings it out in me.

The point is, if we didn't have good evidences as a transition into contemporary mediums, then cultural references would mean little... But the evidence is indeed there. There are over 100 native names for Sasquatch in the US, all describing the same thing to which is then reported by settlers who found their customs undesirable. When you have so much cultural identity invested in this creature, then it's very, very hard to dismiss. People will draw on things like giant birds as myth and legend, but we also have eagles, bears, coyotes and beavers in myth and legend. We have archeological discoveries of giant human skeletal remains in burial mounds in line with some native cultures who have legends of sharing such with Sasquatch, who they agknowledged to be giant human tribes. We also have a hominid skull paper with the exact morphology that would adhere to Sasquatch traits (brow ridge, receding forehead, large jaw, higher nose bridge, extra bone in neck for more neck & shoulder muscles), from a place where the nearby native peoples have always stated that giant canibalistic tribes resided. This in turn exactly the same as nearly every native tribe in North America that have the same legends intertwined in their understanding of Sasquatch.

Though I don't agree with you, as there is a lot to agknowledge in indegenous peoples' understanding of various cryptids both living in the present and fossil evidence in line with present day reports (Bili Ape, homo floresiensis), if there was no evidence then it would be difficult to argue... But we have evidence.

    10. Um... I disagree with the value you are putting on certain types of evidence and draw a different conclusion. I own that. And I try to do so in a respectful way. If you see that as cynicism and struggle with that, that's on you. Disagreement does not equal cynicism. Coming to a conclusion that there is insufficient evidence to prove existence of bigfoot does not equal cynicism.

It does make it hard sometimes not to want to react to you, Joe, when I see some of the ways you react. I know there is plenty of awful behavior in these comments, from both sides, but bad behavior will never be what resolves this question. And I would say the same thing to others (ie non-believers).

    11. Dissagreeing is fine. Demonstrating the areas that support your conclusions at this stage; important as any debate scenario. If you can't, then I'm perfectly warranted in having my educated opinion which is objective in line with simply having a better understanding of the subject. Suggesting people are invested in a mere myth without either knowing the subject matter sufficiently or demonstrating how; cynicism.

"I assume you also believe there were minotaurs running around Greece a couple of thousand years ago?"

... Down right rude. This is what I find hard not to react to. I might add, that there are psychopaths around here who would have the place dominated by people who would censor and ridicule others who want to use the blog productively & discuss the subject matter and exchange ideas. If you are not tough then you won't last long... And though this is not a grounds to be confrontational, it's a reason why I might react the way I do. I feel like I apologised for this enough in my comment up top.

  19. Ha ha Joe. Too funny. You were all like yeah these are definitely bigfoot, and then they turn out to be skiers. Don't you feel like a gullible dumbass? I would if I were you.

    1. Not really. Any process of determination can go through various changes of mind whilst more information comes to light. I've been wrong before and I'll no doubt be wrong again, I'm in good company and if I'll express enthusiasm when I want to, regardless of the little trolls on the scrounge for something to go on.

Like I'll determine how butthurt you've been over the past two years, gaging by your cheerleading... All processes of determination, you see.

      ; )

    3. Oh I can be wrong... Just not that often. It would certainly feel like "ever" if I was you.

  22. wow this thinker thunker nut has out done his usual assumptions
the sizes of buffaloes and figures picked purely out of the air and stated as facts in his usual sarcastic way

since we are assuming! if a silhouette looks like a human ,its probably a safe bet to assume THEY ARE HUMANS

skiers/hikers/wardens etc... are all more realistic than 7-10 foot 800 pd muscle bound creatures[which wed all love it to be and why we watch these films]. if these were the creatures we hear about from eye witnesses[there is no film apart from p/g] why do they appear hairless and have the exact illoutte of a HUMAN BEING. No hair or bulk etc...just himan proportioned sillouttes. regardless of the TT assumptions

As for Joefitz! when is he going to find a boyfriend and sees his domination of every blog comments section with his plethora of comments on every film

I know the Seahawks are and there are plenty of bigfoot in the Washington area so the doctor is predicting them to win for team bigfoot. Always trust the doctor

    1. How can you go against the Patriots. What is more patriotic than a New England Patriot. There are indeed plenty of bigfoots in Washington good doctor, but are they not patriotic also?

Ah heck, I will cut you some slack if I lived in WA all my life I would be a Seahawk fan also.

  25. I'm sorry I missed the party. I have voiced my opionin on here numerous times about TT's inability to properly breakdown video. He just doesn't know video basics, because had he, he would have known instantly he had background distortion due to the distance.

On another note, I have Seattle winning by 10.

  26. Thinker Thunker over thinks his food for thought videos.

    1. Stand next to a Buffalo herd sometime, and you will see that they are smaller than Thinker Thunker thinks they are.
    2. The second area where TT claims the subjects are found, is in an entirely different direction and then they are a lot wider, as if they are more Buffalo. So they are likely Buffalo, since Buffalo cannot be ruled out.
    3. The lead and second subjects, take tiny footsteps as if they are humans. They are both keeping their boots low in order to create an easy pathway for those following. Bigfoot has a large stride and does no clearing of a pathway for other Bigfoot of equal or greater height.
    4. There is no taper of the lower leg. Snow bibs have no taper of the lower leg. Therefore, the 4 subjects are all likely wearing snow bibs. Bigfoot doesn't own a snow bib because he has no pockets to carry the credit card, to buy them with.

Therefore, the four subjects in question are just four foolish humans.
