Finding Bigfoot in New Jersey Air Date Moved to January?

If you were waiting to see the Finding Bigfoot episode featuring not only New Jersey, but Bobcat Goldthwait as well, apparently you're going to have to wait a little bit longer.

According to Dailyrecord.com, the Jersey episode of Finding Bigfoot has been rescheduled.
"In a last-minute jostling of its programming lineup today, Animal Planet changed the air date of the "Finding Bigfoot" episode it shot in Sussex County from Sunday to sometime in January.

The crew from "Finding Bigfoot" was here this summer to scour the forests of Northwest New Jersey in search of what they're always looking for—Sasquatch.

The result of that search is a sixth-season episode called "Bobo, Bobcat and the Big Red Eye" that showcases last June's town hall at the Fountain House in Fredon as well as the week-long "squatch" investigations the team conducted afterwards."

The episode is sure to be a good one, so don't forget to check it out whenever it does air. Apparently New Jersey has more activity than we realized.
"In the past 50 years alone, 207 Sasquatch reports have been made in New Jersey, according to William Taylor, author of "Bigfoot in the New Jersey 'Burbs." A total of 107 were in the northern part of the state, the most famous being the sighting of an 8-foot, 400-pound Sasquatch in the spring of 1977 by the Sites family farm on Wolfpit Road in Wantage, located east of Montague and west of Vernon on Sussex County's northern border.

According to Barbara Sites, quoted in a Daily Record clip from that era, the creature, with luminous red eyes, killed the family's rabbits and, with one swipe, threw their 70-pound dog 20 feet. Reportedly, the family fired on the animal, which walked away."

  5. Why do bigfoot non-believers spend so much time on bf forums, videos, and comment sections, saying the same crap over and over?

I'm an atheist and I don't go to religious sites and spend all day trying to convince believers that god "don't exist" or it's a waste of time to find Jesus because it's a "made up story" (or the very least a recycled story).

So which is more foolish? - a believer who spends his time and energy on something they believe and are interested in or a non-believer who spends his time and energy on something he doesn't believe in?

    1. I think it was dmaker who made the excellent point that it's a rare chance to watch a modern myth in action. And the adherents to the myth create the most fantastic excuses as to why, despite reason, science and logic, the myth is reality.
And there are people like Joe, who fuel the scofftics by pretending that they possess some superior knowledge that trumps common sense. His comical arrogance on the subject is what conservation scientists and widlife biologists call 'a real hoot.'

    2. Thank you for the thoughtful and intelligent reply.

I think the views on this subject in particular are almost as polarizing as politics have become. You either are a die hard believer who believes every crazy claim out there and think every blurry video is proof - or you think it never has existed and every believer is a gullible rube.

I wish there were more in-between people like me who consider themselves as skeptical believers. I believe the existence of such a creature is probable, but I don't accept the majority of claims as "proof". I have a science background so I'll bend to points of misidentification, mass hysteria, pareidolia, and hoaxing as valid explanations of many claims. But the oral history of most Native peoples (worldwide) include such a creature and the scientific validation of foot casts have me leaning towards believing. Not only that but the history record of sightings in this country, going back WAY before 1960's BF craze. Every region had it's own name for such a creature - Wildman, boggy creek monster, skunk ape, etc.

    3. I think most who are interested in the subject are like you, skeptical but open to the possibility. Few people are convinced by the evidence alone without a personal experience. It's the vocal minority who feel the need to shove their opinions on others

    4. While I am still open to the possibility, the more I have looked into the subject I am less convinced. I'm just seeing too many examples of misidentifications- not to mention hoaxes and over eager promoters.

  6. This doesn't sound good to me if you are a fan of the FB program. 3 episodes in and animal planet decides to reschedule? Maybe the show will be cancelled altogether. Does anyone know how the ratings were for the first 2 episodes?

    1. I think they are trying to stretch out the season (maybe skip playing new episodes over the holiday season since people are busy and ratings probably go down). Maybe by stretching it out with a break in between will lesson the gap between seasons.

    2. Maybe, but why not have that strategy to begin with rather than pulling a scheduled show?

    3. Something is not right about this. They (animal planet) were already running commercials for the Jersey episode until about mid-week when they abruptly stopped the commercials and the programming was changed. WTF?

  7. I was at the taping in N.J. Some pretty interesting stories including one where the family had activity a week earlier. Most sightings right near the Appalachian Trail. Family groups seen and bunch of stories of BF watching kids playing. Was interesting watching the taping and the cast was very nice to the people including listening to stories after the taping taking pictures and just hanging out.

  9. I am so mad about the way they changed the date! Big lead up with the upcoming show then someone puts a big foot down ! sorry it will air in Jan 2015.Hey could it be they are looking into some real sightings here in NJ and they found something worth all the time they spent all these years looking in other places around the world. Maybe they got one??? SO frustrating!
